watch the explosions behind
my eyelids. there is smoke
billowing in my iris and down
to my thighs, and I fear
I will choke if you don’t
just graze your teeth on
my bottom lip, open my
bloodstream. release.
I know you have the lungs
of a smoker, so put your
lips to my wrist. inhale.

A rare natural phenomenon turns one of Austria’s most beautiful hiking trails into a 10 meter-deep lake, for half the year.
Located at the foot of the Hochschwab Mountains, in Tragoess, Styria, Green Lake is one of the most bizarre natural phenomena in the world. During the cold winter months, this place is almost completely dry, and used as a country park where hikers love to come and spend some time away from urban chaos. But as soon as temperatures rise, the snow and ice covering the mountaintops begin to melt, and the water pours down, filling the basin below with crystal-clear water.
Water levels go from one-two meters at most, to over 10 meters, in the early summer. The waters of Green Lake are highest in June, when this extraordinary place is invaded by divers, curious to see what a mountain park looks like underwater. Fish swimming over wooden benches, a grass-covered bottom, trees, roads, roads and even bridges create a surreal setting that feels like it belongs on dry ground. That’s because for half of the year, that’s exactly where it’s at.

people are never open to anything→

People are never open to anything. They judge things without experiencing them fully. They swallow ideas and thoughts and beliefs without thinking, they don’t care about anything at all. People have no depth and no creativity anymore. Today at work a two-year-old handed me a Visa card and I saw a little kid who couldn’t be more than eight years old holding a Blackberry. I didn’t have those kinds of things when I was a kid, I don’t think anyone did when we were kids, and I think we were happier because of it. I think we learned more and thought more and experienced more. Now the world and all you need to know about it is at your fingertips. No one reaches out anymore. No one has to.

humansofnewyork:

This photo was taken around midnight on a Brooklyn-bound C Train. The son was sprawled out on his father’s lap, sleeping. The father was cradling the boy’s head in his hands. It was a pretty touching scene, and I wanted to photograph it, but I was very tired myself and I wasn’t sure how much I’d be able to capture from such a close distance. Then suddenly, the father lifted his son into a sitting position, and leaned in so they were touching faces.
I quickly pulled my camera from it’s case and snapped a shot. One of the most natural, beautiful moments I’ve ever been able to capture.

i want to smoke cigarettes and pierce my nose. i want to let my hair grow long and walk barefoot along the train tracks in lace dresses. i want to paint trees on my guitar and let my voice and skin and soul be tinted golden by the setting sun. i want to fall in love with someone i know and fall out of love with all the places i’ve never been.
